If you’re looking for the best outings for toddlers in Victoria BC, you’re in luck. As a local mom, I’m always searching for places where my daughter can explore, move her body, and enjoy the outdoors.
One of the things I love most about raising a family on Vancouver Island is how many beautiful places there are to discover. Whether you’re looking for a beach, an easy trail, or somewhere to let your toddler burn off some energy, Victoria has no shortage of family-friendly adventures.
Here are six of our favourite outings for toddlers in Victoria BC.
Why Aylard Farm Is One of the Best Outings for Toddlers in Victoria BC
The trail from the parking lot to the beach is relatively easy and manageable for little legs. Once you reach the shoreline, there’s plenty of room to explore without feeling crowded. As a family photographer, this is one of my all time favourite spots for shooting!
We especially love visiting in the spring and fall when it’s quieter and the weather is still beautiful.
Why toddlers love it:

Witty’s Lagoon feels like several adventures rolled into one.
There’s a forest trail, a beach, and even a small waterfall depending on the season. The walk isn’t too long, making it a great option for toddlers who still enjoy exploring but aren’t ready for a major hike.
Why toddlers love it:
This is a classic Victoria outing for a reason.
The goats are always a hit, and the farm offers a simple, low-pressure outing that’s perfect for younger children.
If your toddler loves animals, Beacon Hill Children’s Farm almost guaranteed to be a favourite.
Why toddlers love it:

For families wanting a gentle forest adventure, Francis King is one of our favourite spots.
The trails are wide, relatively flat, and all the little details toddlers find fascinating.
It feels like you’re deep in nature while still being close to town.
Why toddlers love it:
Matheson Lake is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem.
The loop trail is manageable for many toddlers with some assistance, and there are plenty of spots to stop and throw rocks into the water or watch ducks paddle by.
It’s especially beautiful in the early morning or evening.
Why toddlers love it:

One thing I’ve learned as both a mom and a family photographer is that the moments we often remember most aren’t the big events.
They’re the ordinary mornings at the beach. The muddy boots after a trail walk. The tiny hand collecting rocks and proudly showing you each one.
These little adventures become part of your family’s story.
If you’re looking for more ways to enjoy Victoria with young children, I hope this list gives you a few new places to explore.
And if you’d like to document this season of life with your family, I’d love to help you preserve some of those everyday moments before they slip by with photos or a family film to preserve these years!
