If you’re looking for babymoon ideas in Victoria BC, you’re in luck. Between ocean views, cozy staycations, spa days, and peaceful coastal walks, there are plenty of ways to slow down and enjoy this season before your baby arrives.
When I was pregnant, I remember feeling all the feelings. A nursery to organize, tiny clothes to wash, appointments to attend, and endless lists of things to buy. It’s easy to spend pregnancy preparing for baby and forget to make space for yourselves. We’ve all been there!
A babymoon doesn’t need to involve flights, fancy resorts, or a packed itinerary. Sometimes the best kind of getaway is simply a chance to reconnect, rest, and soak in the final weeks before everything changes. And trust me as a Mom who’s been there, ENJOY this time alone while you can!
Here are a few babymoon ideas in Victoria BC that are actually worth making time for.

You don’t have to leave Vancouver Island to feel like you’ve escaped, not at all.
Treat yourselves to a night or two at a local waterfront hotel, order room service, sleep in, and enjoy having absolutely nowhere to be. Whether you’re staying in Oak Bay, Brentwood Bay, or downtown Victoria, the goal isn’t to sightsee usually, it’s to slow down and just enjoy doing not much!
This is your permission to nap, eat dessert, and watch the ocean without feeling guilty about it.
Growing a human is exhausting.
A prenatal massage can be one of the best gifts you give yourself during pregnancy. Many local spas and wellness clinics offer treatments specifically designed for expecting mothers.
Pair it with lunch, a slow walk by the water, and a quiet afternoon together. Sometimes the simplest days are the most memorable.
My favourite spa is the Oak Bay Beach Hotel– where you can order food and drink service pool side!

This is one of my favourite low-effort, high-reward outings in Victoria.
Pick up takeout from your favourite restaurant, bring a blanket, and find a spot along Dallas Road. Watch the waves roll in, feel the ocean breeze, and enjoy a rare moment where nobody is asking you for snacks.
It’s simple, but somehow those are often the evenings we remember most.
If a long hike sounds less than appealing these days, Butchart Gardens offers a beautiful way to spend an afternoon outdoors without overdoing it.
The pathways are easy to navigate, there are plenty of benches to rest on, and every season brings something different to enjoy. Take your time, stop for coffee, and let yourselves move slowly.

One of the things I love most about Metchosin is that it encourages you to slow down. And you really FEEL far away from it all.
Drive the winding roads, stop at a beach you’ve never visited before, grab coffee, and spend the day exploring without an agenda.
A few favourite places to visit include Albert Head Lagoon, Taylor Beach, and My-Chosen Cafe for a home cooked meal! None of them require a major commitment, but all of them offer beautiful scenery and a chance to get outside together.
A babymoon doesn’t need to be expensive!
Pack your favourite snacks, bring a blanket, and head to a local beach. Cadboro Bay, Island View Beach, and Willows Beach all make beautiful spots for an afternoon picnic.
Leave your phones in your bag for a while. Talk about your hopes for this next chapter. Dream a little about who’s in your tummy and what life will be look soon. (Or just soak in the baby-free days a little longer).
This season passes faster than it feels like it will.
While you’re busy preparing for baby, don’t forget that this chapter deserves to be remembered too. Your body is doing something incredible, and whether you’re expecting your first baby or your fourth, this season is worth documenting.
One of the things I hear most often from mothers is that they almost skipped maternity photos because they didn’t feel like themselves. (I even had this thought being a photographer myself). But trust me, future you will be so glad you did.
You don’t need a perfect wardrobe, a perfect body, or a Pinterest-worthy vision. You just need a willingness to pause and remember what this season felt like before it became a memory. I’d love to chat more about documenting this time for you, you can check out more of my work here!

Pregnancy has a funny way of feeling both endless and fleeting.
Some days feel long. The discomfort can be real. You’re counting down the weeks and dreaming about finally meeting your baby.
And then suddenly, it’s over.
A babymoon isn’t really about the destination. It’s about creating space to be present before life shifts in a beautiful and permanent way. It’s about making memories together before your family grows and your attention naturally turns to caring for someone new. And, it’s just an excuse to spend some time with your partner (or friends!) before your little love takes up all of your time.
Most couples plan their babymoon during the second trimester or early third trimester when energy levels tend to be higher and travel feels more comfortable.
Not at all. Some of the best babymoon ideas in Victoria BC are close to home. The goal is to rest and connect, not add stress to your schedule.
Focus on activities that help you relax. Think spa treatments, scenic walks, waterfront dinners, beach picnics, and uninterrupted time together.
Absolutely. Many expecting parents choose to schedule their maternity session during a special outing or getaway, making the experience even more memorable.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned as both a mother and a photographer, it’s that these seasons pass incredibly quickly.
The nursery will get finished. The baby clothes will get folded. The to-do list will eventually get checked off.
But before all of that, give yourselves permission to slow down.
Take the trip. Book the massage. Watch the sunset. Celebrate this season for what it is.
And if you’d like to preserve it through photographs, I’d love to help tell that part of your story too!
Hi, I’m Natasha, a family and motherhood photographer based in Victoria, BC and the owner of Wild Oak Creative.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me exploring beaches, trails, and hidden gems around Vancouver Island with my husband and daughter. As a local mom, I’m always on the lookout for simple family adventures, beautiful places to explore, and ways to make the most of this season of life.
Through my photography and films, I help families preserve the moments that often feel ordinary now but become priceless with time. Whether you’re expecting your first baby or chasing toddlers along the shoreline, I’d love to help tell your story!
